The Whitfords invited me into their home with their newest addition, Asher Louis, just 9 days old. Asher preferred to be held in his parents’ arms, only fussing briefly when laid down for a few moments. 

In-home sessions with newborns are so quiet amongst the chaos of this world that time seems to stand still. So still, in fact, that the shutter of my camera even startled Asher once or twice. It fascinated me that I had never before noticed just how abruptly loud it could be in the absence of noise or movement each time I pressed the shutter button.
